Job Description

As a Freelance Project Director, this role leads complex delivery across large client portfolios, partnering closely with Client Services and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality execution. This position focuses on driving clarity across scope, timelines, budgets, and resourcing while supporting delivery excellence in a fast-moving environment. The role contributes immediately to active work streams and helps stabilise and scale delivery across projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end project management across complex, multi-work stream portfolios using tools like Smartsheet or JIRA
  • Partner with Client Services and discipline leads to align on deliverables, timelines, and client expectations
  • Manage scope, budgets, forecasting, timelines, and resource plans across active engagements
  • Identify risks, manage escalations, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Support and guide project teams across distributed locations to ensure consistent delivery standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • Several years of project management experience, including delivery of large, complex portfolios in agency or consulting environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing scope, budgets, forecasting, and P&L across multiple concurrent work streams
  • Experience working with healthcare or pharmaceutical clients within an agency setting
  • Experience partnering with Client Services and cross-functional teams to deliver client-facing work
  • Hands-on proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, or TFS in active delivery
  • Experience applying both waterfall and agile methodologies across integrated teams

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done
  • Experience supporting or guiding project teams across multiple locations or time zones
  • Experience presenting delivery status, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders or clients
  • Familiarity with organisational change management in project delivery environments
  • Understanding of SCRUM methodology and agile delivery practices
  • Strong financial and operational awareness demonstrated through project or portfolio reporting
