Freelance Tokyo Strategy Lead
The Tokyo Strategy Lead, is responsible for contributing in-market knowledge and insight to development of strategies and brand building capabilities. This requires expertise in research methods, competitive landscape analysis, positioning, creative brief and creative concept development, and communication strategy and message development. This role plays a critical role in drivin new business growth and pitch narratives.
This role provides strategic leadership and continuity to the team and client. Works in collaboration with the SVP, Unified Strategy Enablement and Experience Lead who is tasked with enabling and implementing the unified strategy model on the global stage with initial focus on operationalizing in the market.
Therefore, this role would function as the regional Strategy lead for the team and clients as we move beyond the scale-up period of our Global Unified Strategy model.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Hire and manage Unified Strategy team resources while working in partnership with Enablement Lead to align regional needs with the Unified Strategy model
- Learn and utilize Klick’s proprietary frameworks and strategic processes to deliver differentiated, value-added strategic work.
- Partner with regional MD to provide leadership in business development efforts
- Develops Brand Beacon, Provocation Briefs, Brand Building Workshops, etc.
- Adapt Klick’s brand building templates and frameworks to meet client needs
- Serves as a thought leader internally and externally on regional dynamics, specie market needs, audience needs, and audience preferences
- Helps to evaluate talent team-wide and determine promotion readiness
- Contribute to the development and management of scopes of work and staffing plans
- Manages workflow, anticipate/manage resource spikes related to brand building projects
- Helps to adapt Klick’s culture to the local and in-office culture of the hub
- Use regional contacts to help grow relationships with potential clients and identify and secure new business opportunities

Qualifications
- University Degree, focus in Business, Science, Behavioral Science, or Anthropology
- Broad range of therapeutic area expertise across both consumer and HCP audiences
- Superior client presentation & facilitation skills
- Creative problem solving skills with a passion for innovation
- Strong leadership ability with clients and internal teams
- Ability to see the big picture and know how to influence it with the smallest details

- Fluent in English and Japanese
- Minimum Years of Experience 10+ years
