Job Description
The Freelance Senior Project Manager leads complex healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing programs across cross-functional teams and client stakeholders. This role is responsible for driving delivery excellence across integrated digital, CRM, software development, and omnichannel initiatives while balancing scope, timelines, budgets, and business outcomes. The position partners closely with Client Services, Creative, Strategy, Technology, and external client teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, collaboratively, and with high quality standards.
What You’ll Do
Lead multiple integrated healthcare and pharma client projects simultaneously, managing 1M+ in revenue across digital, CRM, software development, and omnichannel deliverables.
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, quality assurance, reconciliations, and stakeholder communication using tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and financial management systems.
Coordinate and mentor cross-functional project teams while resolving resourcing conflicts and supporting staffing and solutioning conversations across accounts.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong client relationships, align delivery expectations, and drive successful business outcomes across complex programs.
Identify operational efficiencies, monitor portfolio metrics, and apply Agile, Waterfall, and SCRUM methodologies to improve delivery performance and project execution.
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of project management experience within agency, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or marketing environments managing complex integrated client programs.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with combined budgets or revenue responsibility exceeding 1M while maintaining timelines, scope, and profitability targets.
- Hands-on experience using project management and collaboration tools including Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, TFS, and financial processing systems within cross-functional delivery teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading digital, CRM, software development, interactive, or omnichannel marketing projects using Agile, Waterfall, and SCRUM methodologies.
- Experience presenting delivery updates, managing stakeholder expectations, and leading client-facing communications across internal teams and external healthcare/pharma clients.
- Demonstrated ability to manage reconciliations, project financials, contingency usage, discounted work orders, and portfolio reporting metrics in an agency or client services environment.
Desired:
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
- Experience supporting organisational change management initiatives or systems implementation programs across enterprise or client environments.
- Experience mentoring Project Managers or coordinating cross-functional delivery teams in high-volume agency settings.
- Strong business and financial acumen with experience evaluating delivery impact on profitability, utilisation, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance delivery efficiency, collaboration, or client outcomes.
- Experience working across global or distributed teams supporting complex healthcare or life sciences organisations.
