Job Description

The Junior Art Director intern supports the development of visual concepts and campaign ideas across multiple media channels. This role works closely with Copywriters, Creative Directors, and cross-functional partners to translate briefs into visually compelling, brand-aligned executions. The position offers hands-on exposure to concept development, layout design, and production within a regulated healthcare environment. Success is measured by strength of ideas, quality of design craft, responsiveness to feedback, and alignment with strategic and brand objectives.

Internship Term: May - August, 2026

What You’ll Do

  • Develop visual concepts and campaign ideas across digital, social, print, and video based on approved creative briefs and messaging platforms.
  • Design layouts, storyboards, mockups, and presentation materials using Adobe Creative Suite aligned to brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Copywriters, Strategists, and Medical partners to ensure concepts meet regulatory and brand requirements.
  • Participate in internal creative reviews, presenting visual rationale grounded in strategy and audience insight.
  • Revise and refine creative assets based on Creative Director and stakeholder feedback while managing versions and deadlines.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and visual execution across at least 2 mediums (e.g., digital, print, video), with clear explanation of idea and objective.
  • Graduating by April 2026 or graduated within the past two years from a post-secondary program in Advertising, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications, or related field, with a portfolio of 4+ projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) demonstrated through completed design work; exposure to motion tools such as After Effects is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret a creative brief and translate strategy into visual direction, evidenced through coursework or internship projects.
  • Experience managing multiple assignments or deadlines through academic, freelance, or collaborative team projects.

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
  • Experience creating storyboards, wireframes, or campaign mockups that show progression from concept to execution.
  • Exposure to healthcare, science, or regulated industries through coursework or portfolio work.
  • Experience collaborating in team-based creative environments with clearly defined contributions.
  • Familiarity with brand guidelines and structured feedback processes demonstrated through portfolio examples.

Additional Information

This posting is for a newly created role at Klick. The base salary for this position is CAD 50,000 per year and will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate’s work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior experience.
