Job Description
The Junior Designer intern supports the development of visual concepts and design assets for healthcare-focused digital products, presentations, and consulting engagements. This role partners with consultants, data scientists, and technologists to translate complex information into clear, compelling visual communication. The position offers hands-on experience across multiple project types in a regulated industry. Junior Designers work alongside senior creatives, gaining exposure to real client engagements and creative decision-making processes. Success is measured by quality of craft, clarity in simplifying complex information, growth across the term, and contribution to work used in real client contexts.Success is measured by quality of craft, clarity of visual storytelling, responsiveness to feedback, and ability to manage multiple deliverables.
Internship Term: May - August, 2026
What You’ll Do
- Develop visual concepts and layouts for digital products, reports, and client-facing materials using Adobe Creative Suite and presentation tools.
- Design icons, infographics, and illustrations that translate scientific or data-driven content into clear visuals for consulting teams and clients.
- Build high-quality PowerPoint or Google Slides presentations aligned to brand guidelines and structured messaging.
- Collaborate with consultants, data scientists, and technologists to iterate on design solutions based on project requirements and stakeholder feedback.
- Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously, tracking versions and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
Qualifications
Required:
- Portfolio demonstrating visual systems, design concept development, and strong information hierarchy across at least 2 mediums, with clear explanation of design rationale and problem-solving approach. Work should demonstrate ability to move from idea to execution.
- Graduating by April 2026 or graduated within the past two years from a post-secondary program in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Information Design, or related field, with a portfolio of 4+ design projects.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) demonstrated through applied portfolio work; exposure to Premiere or After Effects is acceptable.
- Experience creating structured presentations in Figma Slides, PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote with examples showing data visualization or complex content.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical or scientific information and translate it into visual communication, evidenced through coursework or project work.
Desired:
- Comfort integrating AI tools into design concept development, or production workflows.
- Experience designing visuals that communicate complex or data-heavy content, with measurable outcomes (e.g., presentation used in client meeting, academic distinction, competition submission).
- Exposure to UX/UI fundamentals (wireframes, user flows, or interface mockups) demonstrated in portfolio samples.
- Familiarity with brand guidelines and version control processes demonstrated in academic or internship settings.
- Evidence of translating abstract strategy into tangible visual outputs.
Additional Information
This posting is for a newly created role at Klick. The base salary for this position is CAD 50,000 per year and will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate’s work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior experience.
