Job Description
The Senior Web Developer builds and delivers production web experiences and supporting services for life sciences brands as part of Klick’s Full Stack + AI team. The role combines deep web engineering expertise with AI-native development practices, using coding agents, structured context, automated verification, and human review to improve delivery quality and efficiency. This individual leads technical delivery on projects, partners with Technical Directors and cross-functional teams, and mentors developers on engineering standards, accessibility, security, performance, and effective AI-assisted development.
What You’ll Do
- Lead development of production web applications and supporting server-side services using modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, and server-side technologies, from initial architecture through deployment and maintenance.
- Design and operate agentic development workflows using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent, including task decomposition, project instructions, reusable prompts or skills, tool integrations, automated verification, and defined human review checkpoints.
- Own code quality across human- and AI-generated work by applying automated tests, type checks, linting, CI/CD gates, code review, OWASP-aligned security practices, WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, and Core Web Vitals performance requirements.
- Build reliable integrations with headless or enterprise CMS platforms, APIs, analytics implementations, Google Tag Manager, and structured data layers while maintaining testability, maintainability, and appropriate handling of personal or confidential information.
- Lead technical estimation, documentation, risk identification, code review, and developer mentoring, communicating architecture decisions, scope assumptions, delivery risks, and AI development practices clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of professional web development experience delivering production applications across front-end and server-side code, with demonstrated expertise in semantic HTML, modern CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, and a server-side language such as Node.js.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent as part of regular software delivery, including task planning, context or instruction management, automated verification, diff review, and documented human approval before production deployment.
- Experience building at least one production feature, internal tool, or workflow that integrates directly with an LLM API, with observable responsibility for implementation, testing, evaluation, security, or ongoing maintenance.
- Experience delivering accessible, secure, and performant web applications using WCAG 2.2 AA practices, OWASP-aligned controls, Core Web Vitals optimization, automated testing, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and documented deployment or rollback processes.
- Experience leading technical delivery through estimation, architecture or implementation decisions, code review, risk management, and mentoring, with examples of communicating technical trade-offs to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired:
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
- Experience with frameworks such as Next.js, Gatsby, or Astro and headless or enterprise CMS platforms such as Contentful, AEM, or Drupal, demonstrated through production web delivery.
- Experience implementing analytics using Google Tag Manager, GA4, and structured data layers, including event tracking, testing, or measurement requirements.
- Experience deploying web applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP, serverless services, Docker, or comparable cloud and container technologies.
- Experience building internal AI tools or agents using an agent SDK, including evaluation approaches such as baseline comparisons, automated scoring, or LLM-as-judge methods, or delivering technology within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another regulated environment.
