Job Description

This freelance Mid-Weight Copywriter role supports the development of creative concepts and promotional copy for healthcare and life sciences clients. The role partners closely with art directors, Creative, Client Service, Medical, and Regulatory teams to ensure work is strategically clear, medically accurate, and aligned to client objectives. This position requires strong writing craft, collaborative execution, and the ability to manage multiple ad hoc assignments across channels.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop advertising concepts and promotional copy from draft through final delivery with an art director partner
  • Create copy for client campaigns, presentations, and multi-channel deliverables across healthcare brands
  • Partner with Client Service, Medical, Regulatory, and Creative teams to verify claims, facts, and message accuracy
  • Present creative concepts and rationale in internal reviews and client presentations with clear strategic alignment
  • Guide junior creatives on assigned projects by reviewing work, providing feedback, and supporting delivery timelines

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in marketing or advertising with healthcare or pharmaceutical clients, demonstrated through portfolio work or campaign examples
  • Experience writing advertising, promotional, or campaign copy from concept through final approved deliverables
  • Working knowledge of agency processes including routing, print production, usage rights, and review workflows
  • Experience collaborating with art directors, Creative, Client Service, Medical, and Regulatory teams on client-facing work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through presentations, rationale, and stakeholder feedback

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done
  • Experience adapting copy for different audiences, channels, and brand voices while maintaining strategic and medical accuracy.
  • Experience supervising junior creatives or reviewing copy for quality, accuracy, and strategic fit
  • Working knowledge of healthcare brand challenges, audience needs, and market dynamics
  • Experience managing multiple ad hoc projects with changing deadlines and stakeholder priorities
