Job Description

This role serves as a strategic bridge between Japan and Global, ensuring that local market insight meaningfully informs global decisions while helping guide the successful expansion of our client’s healthcare portfolio in Japan. The Senior Strategy Lead drives alignment, clarity, and execution across diverse teams, acting as a trusted advisor and facilitator of shared understanding.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build trusted partnerships with senior Japan-based stakeholders and serve as a key strategic advisor.
  • Develop deep understanding of Japan’s healthcare ecosystem and competitive landscape.
  • Translate Japan-specific insights into globally relevant strategies and positioning recommendations.
  • Shape end-to-end customer journeys and guide localisation of assets, messaging, and campaigns.
  • Coordinate Japan-Global alignment including meeting rhythms, materials, decisions, and follow-through

Qualifications

Required:

  • Native Japanese proficiency and English fluency at C1+ level.
  • 10–15 years of experience in healthcare strategy, marketing, or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese healthcare systems and therapeutic areas.
  • Familiarity with PMD Act, JPMA Code, and MLR review processes.
  • Ability to interpret real-world evidence, claims data, IQVIA, and digital analytics.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Proven presentation skills for complex strategic narratives.
  • Ability to produce clear strategic summaries in both Japanese and English.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to enhance efficiency and insights.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting both local and global brand teams.
  • Knowledge of global brand planning processes and lifecycle strategy.
  • Ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience shaping value propositions, messaging frameworks, or customer journeys.
  • Familiarity working with MLR partners to ensure compliant asset development.
  • Ability to create scalable playbooks and codify best practices.
