The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and complexities of marketing oncology treatments, including launch experience, knowledge of industry regulations, therapeutic landscapes (solid tumors and/or hematologic malignancies), and the critical needs of both healthcare professionals and patients. You will be responsible for developing innovative, compliant advertising solutions that effectively communicate complex medical concepts while driving awareness, education, and engagement. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in crafting campaigns that resonate on both an intellectual and emotional level, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by cancer. A passion for oncology and a strong commitment to advancing healthcare communication are essential in this role.
Management and Execution:
- P&L responsibility for assigned oncology clients, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals and financial targets
- Responsible for discovering and managing opportunities and/or risks within oncology portfolios, including complex treatment landscapes and evolving therapeutic categories
- Manage and work to exceed expectations for oncology-focused clients, building trust through deep category knowledge and responsiveness.
- Act as the primary ambassador for oncology clients within Klick, ensuring their priorities and nuances are accurately represented across internal teams.
- Monitor project execution to ensure the successful delivery of oncology campaigns that comply with FDA, OPDP, and other oncology-specific regulatory requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering multi-channel oncology programs, while managing opportunities and mitigating risks related to portfolio complexity and lifecycle stages (e.g., pre-launch, launch, LOE)
- Understand the oncology vertical, including competitive pressures, emerging treatment modalities (e.g., immunotherapies, cell & gene therapies), and shifting regulatory and policy environments.
- Develop strategic roadmaps tailored to oncology clients, identifying and leveraging evolving opportunities such as biomarker-based targeting, patient support programs, and HCP education.
- Translate complex oncology brand visions and scientific narratives into strategic initiatives that resonate across audiences (HCP, patient, caregiver, payer)
- Collaborate with other vendor partners across medical, market access, and digital ecosystems to ensure cohesive execution in the oncology space.
- Ensure all communications meet Klick Health standards and reflect empathy, precision, and compliance, especially for emotionally sensitive oncology patient journeys.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the client's oncology business, competitive landscape, clinical data, treatment pathways, KOL networks, and market access hurdles.
- Consistently identify opportunities to bring strategic and innovative value to oncology clients’ businesses, including leveraging AI and data-driven insights.
- Lead the development and evolution of oncology-specific account plans based on treatment advances, FDA approvals, or competitive entries.
Experience:
- Oncology experience is a must, with a strong track record managing high-science brands in solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, or rare cancers. 12+ years of client services experience in the advertising industry
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising experience focused on oncology, with fluency in translating clinical data into compelling promotional and educational campaigns
- Comfortable managing $12-15M+ in oncology-focused scope of business, with deep understanding of both global and U.S. markets
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior-level oncology clients, including marketing leads, medical affairs, and C-suite stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to grow oncology client business, leveraging knowledge of clinical development pipelines, patient advocacy, and HCP engagement
- Experience mentoring teams in developing effective communications for oncology audiences—balancing empathy, scientific accuracy, and compliance
- Ability to anticipate and adapt to shifts in oncology market dynamics, including competitive launches, biomarker evolution, or reimbursement barriers
- In partnership with Project Management, lead the development of scopes of work for complex oncology campaigns, including branded/unbranded, congress, and mechanism of action (MOA) initiatives
- Strong presentation and communication skills, particularly in delivering medical/scientific content to non-scientific audiences
- An understanding of marketing communications and evolving regulations specific to oncology therapies in the U.S., including accelerated approval pathways and REMS requirements
Position Requirements:
