Job Description

This role leads backend engineering for complex AEM or Drupal implementations that support personalization, experimentation, and analytics across digital ecosystems. It is a highly collaborative position that works with strategy, data, and DevOps partners to build resilient architectures and ensure accurate measurement. The ideal candidate combines deep CMS development expertise with hands-on experience enabling Adobe Target, tagging frameworks, and data-driven optimization.

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Lead backend development of AEM or Drupal components and services for scalable content delivery
  • Design and implement Adobe Target integrations that support testing and personalization workflows
  • Architect tagging frameworks and data layers with analytics partners to ensure accurate tracking
  • Build and maintain APIs and middleware that connect CMS, personalization, and analytics platforms
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, documentation, code reviews, and troubleshooting across environments

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • 7+ years of backend or CMS development experience in enterprise AEM or Drupal environments
  • Expertise in AEM (Sling, OSGi, JCR, Dispatcher) or Drupal (Symfony, Composer, custom modules)
  • Experience implementing Adobe Target testing and personalization integrations
  • Advanced understanding of GTM, Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics, and data-layer design
  • Proficiency in Java, PHP, or Node.js, and ability to develop and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting and CI/CD automation, and ability to collaborate across QA, analytics, and DevOps

Desired:

  • Adobe Certified Expert – AEM Sites Developer or Adobe Target certification
  • Acquia Certified Drupal Developer or equivalent credential
  • Experience integrating Adobe Target with CMS platforms via APIs or SDKs
  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Cloud products and analytics architecture
  • Ability to incorporate AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor into development workflows
