Marketing Automation Manager

Our team is looking for a Marketing Automation Manager to lead teams developing, executing, and optimizing multi-channel marketing campaigns for our Healthcare & Pharmaceutical clients. If you are a leader, digital influencer, strategic thinker, hands-on executor, and love the digital marketing and marketing automation world, we want to hear from you! You will be responsible for driving the delivery of email, direct mail, SMS, and app campaigns. As the subject matter expert helping to lead a team of specialists, you will operate cross-functionally, be a subject matter expert, and communicate project status updates to stakeholders. You will also be responsible for defining best practices and improving processes to ensure flawless execution of campaigns by the team and recommend improvements for deliverability, personalization and campaign optimization. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

Candidate in this role is expected to be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities to a consistently high standard

  • Help lead a team of campaign specialists, including day-to-day operational execution and project management of multi-channel (email, direct mail, SMS, website) campaigns 
  • Help drive team effectiveness and maintain accountability by recruiting, onboarding, training, and monitoring program and team member performance
  • Ensure adoption of best practices to drive efficiency, ensure quality control, and improve business outcomes for clients
  • Manage campaigns from concepts to requirements gathering to final delivery through close collaboration with business partners
  • Define and implement business rules for segmentation, decision trees, A/B or multivariate tests, and list generation Generate ad-hoc and scheduled reports to monitor and optimize campaigns to meet and exceed metrics including deliverability, engagement and business KPIs
  • Design build and manage campaigns in multiple technologies such as IBM Watson Marketing Automation and Adobe Campaign
  • Comply with organizational industry regulations, standards and best practices regarding privacy, commercial communications and data security and be a point of escalation

Required Experience and Skills 

Candidates in this role are expected to be able to demonstrate all of the following:

  • Experience building and growing campaign specialists as a lead or manager 
  • Track record of driving process and technology improvements to improve operational efficiency, quality and scale
  • Expertise with one or more email and SMS marketing tools such as IBM Campaign (Preferred), Marketo and Adobe Campaign Experience with implementing connected customer journey campaigns across multiple marketing channels and 1:1 dynamic personalization for next best message and next best action
  • Successful delivery of multi-channel (email, SMS, push) campaigns from concept, to requirements to ongoing operations
  • Proficiency with segmentation, testing methods including A/B and MVT, and multi-touch communication streams Effective translation of business needs into requirements documents, designs, test plans and operational playbooks
  • Management of email deliverability including DNS, MX, IP setup and warming processes (e.g. throttling)
  • Familiarity with deliverability tools (e.g. ReturnPath, 250ok,etc.) and email validation services (e.g. Webbula, BriteVerify, etc.)
  • Generation of reports using marketing automation systems and tools such as Google Analytics to analyze program performance
  • Understanding of CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and other regulatory standards related to marketing communication Strong communication and presentation skills 

The following skills are not required but desirable for this role: 

  • Experience with contextual marketing strategies and execution (e.g. Movable Ink, Liveclicker, etc.)
  • Certification and/or experience with multiple marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g. IBM Watson Marketing Automation/Silverpop, Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget, Adobe Campaign, etc.)
  • Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g. Pharma, Financial, Insurance, etc.)
